An association is charging a $10 entrance fee into their property for all residents with delinquent dues.  The association feels it encourages debtors to pay their unpaid dues and it promotes a fair process.  They claim their unpaid residents have gone from 26 to 6.

A couple who had their children's playset destroyed by a falling tree, went to the local community to find out who was responsible for the wetlands behind their property.  The city told them their homeowners association  was responsible for the wetlands but the couple and their neighbors claim there is no association on record.

Residents are facing having their water shut off because their homeowners association has not paid the water bills.  The homeowners pay their water through their association fees and the association is to pay the water bill from those fees.  The association is now $100,000 behind in payments.

After suffering for months with headaches and breathing problems, a condominium owner looked inside the unit next to hers and saw mold covering the counter tops and walls.  It was proven that the mold had grown into other condos causing a health hazard.

A state commission for common-interest communities in Nevada voted to remove an agenda item that would call to rescind  its opinion that says collection and attorney costs can be recovered as part of a lien in foreclosure cases.

The increase in drug activity is causing a community association to want to install security cameras throughout the community and borough.

Homeowners are being fined for violations from the existence of patio coverings that were built many years ago.  A building inspector was in the area for an unrelated issue, spotted the structures, and is now insisting the structures be permitted or torn down.

A disgruntled homeowner is the center of a vandalism case in an association.  Dead trees, flat tires, overflowing toilets  and clogged sewer lines have been acts of vandalism occuring in an association as the board attempts to catch the vandal in the act.
