The Bunker

The Bunker is one of a number of Vivos underground shelters that incorporate the most unique co-ownership associations in the country, and perhaps the world!  We can’t tell you the names of the associations or the locations in their underground network, but we can tell you they are primarily built in converted Cold War-era government shelters.  The Vivos concept is so unique, it was recently featured on The Travel Channel in April 2013 on a segment titled “Extreme Survival Shelters”, and hailed as the premier company providing co-ownership shelters. Vivos has fascinated the world’s media. Many news networks have published thousands of stories about this unprecedented venture. Vivos has a number of shelters, built or under construction, located in the United States and Europe.  The developer, Robert Vicino, CEO of The Vivos Group, specializes in luxury, co-ownership shelters in which anybody can buy an interest.  Not a traditional condominium, and definitely not a planned development, Vivos creates a nonprofit mutual benefit corporation that owns the shelters and the properties on a cooperative basis, with no religious affiliations.

The idea behind the Vivos network is to provide a real solution to mitigate virtually all threat scenarios, whether from nature, the cosmos, or mankind. (Here is a list of specific threats that each Vivos shelter is designed to survive:  http://www.terravivos.com/secure/threatscenarios.htm).  Many people believe that we are living in the “end times” and are looking for a viable solution to survive potential Earth-devastating events.  The safest way to survive these events is to find shelter underground, as the earth itself provides the best protection from most catastrophes and their aftermath.  Vivos shelters are fully autonomous, self-contained complexes that comfortably accommodate community groups from 50 to 1,000 people in spacious living quarters.

Each shelter is built, outfitted, and stocked for its designated number of members to survive autonomously for a minimum of one year, without needing to return to the surface.  Vivos outfits each impervious shelter with all of the food, fuel, materials, supplies, furnishing, fixtures, and equipment needed for the long-term underground survival of each member group.  Every co-owner is provided clothing, bedding, toiletries, and hygienic and medical supplies.  Each facility is outfitted with deep underground water wells for a continuous supply of fresh water, fuel to power the generators for a minimum of one year, extensive medical equipment, security devices, survival gear, books, educational and entertainment materials, and much more.

We at HOA Pulse found “The Bunker” and Vivos to be an extremely unique business model and interesting living environment - albeit hopefully one that will never be needed. In the event that it is, the members’ spaces will be priceless.
